The Corinthians were divided against each other because they focused on themselves as individuals and sought the world’s approval; thus, they were falling into major sin. Paul calls them to see themselves as a unified body and follow his leadership in Christ. Then they could break the pattern of sin and start maturing. Just like the child who gets scared in a crowded room, maybe we should stop focusing on ourselves, but instead seek to be picked up and receive God’s perspective.
